OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/04/2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m. CST, Fairfield Glade Police Department officers were searching for Jody Tollet, a 42-year-old male from Crab Orchard, Tennessee, in connection with a reported domestic incident. An officer located Tollet's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but Tollet fled. Police escalated a pursuit that ended in the 9000 block of Peavine Road, where Tollet exited his vehicle armed with a handgun and fired at the officer, striking the patrol vehicle's windshield. The officer returned fire, fatally wounding Tollet. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.
