OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/06/2025, Clear Creek County deputies attempted to arrest a woman with a felony warrant from Oklahoma in a parking lot near Interstate 70 and Highway 40 in Empire, Colorado. The woman, initially in the passenger seat, moved to the driver’s seat and drove away. Clear Creek deputies escalated a chase that continued until she crashed near the County Road 306 Bridge over Clear Creek in Lawson. After exiting the vehicle with a gun, police fired. Unknown if "less lethal options" were used, then they shot and killed her.
