On March 7, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Guthrie police officers responded to a welfare check near South Division Street and West Allen Road. Upon arrival, they encountered a male individual in the parking lot of Billy Sims BBQ near Division Street and Industrial Road. Officers opened fire, striking the individual, who was pronounced dead in the parking lot. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is collaborating with Guthrie police to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
