Scottsdale police responded to reports of a man threatening another person with a firearm near Scottsdale and McKellips Roads. Upon arrival, officers learned Joseph Santos had left the area. Police later encountered Santos, issuing commands before shooting and killing him during a confrontation. A K-9 officer was also injured during the incident. Mesa Police Department is investigating the shooting.
