Police attempted to stop a silver pickup truck driven by Robert F. Bartels, who was wanted for leaving the scene of a previous accident. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase westbound on County Road 250 North. In the 6300 block, the truck left the roadway and struck a tree. Bartels was pronounced dead at the scene.
