OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a Honda Accord near Anderson Road and White Horse Road at approximately 1:45 a.m. The driver did not stop, and police escalated a chase. The pursuit was canceled near White Horse Road and Interstate 85. Shortly after, deputies were alerted to a fiery crash on I-85 South at Exit 44. The vehicle had veered off the left side of the road while merging and struck a concrete barrier wall, igniting in flames. Aaron Joseph Lowry, 18, of Anderson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
