OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On March 16, 2025, at approximately 7:00 PM, a San Antonio Police Department officer attempted a traffic stop on Loop 410 eastbound. The 43-year-old male driver exited the highway at Vance Jackson and stopped at a Shell gas station. When the officer approached, the man ran on foot through residential areas, jumping fences and alleys. During the pursuit, he allegedly displayed a knife. The officer deployed a Taserand then opened fire, killing him. A knife with a five-inch blade was recovered at the scene, and a firearm was found in his vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the SAPD shooting team and internal affairs unit, with findings to be reviewed by the Bexar County District Attorney's office.
