OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On March 1, 2025, at approximately 2:42 a.m., Orlando Police Department officers responded to a report of a suspicious person with a firearm at the 200 block of E. Colonial Drive. The caller reported a man was beating on their door while armed. Upon arrival, officers located an open door and encountered 62-year-old Nick Raymond Bingham, who emerged holding an AR-15-style rifle. Three officers opened fire, striking him. Bingham was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating, and the officers involved were placed on paid administrative leave.
