On February 25, 2025, a semi-truck driver was shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting on U.S. Highway 6 in Mineral County, Nevada. The driver survived the attack. The shooter was identified as Christian Castellon of Panorama City, California. On February 26, 2025, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in the San Gabriel Mountains, where a victim was shot while operating a drone. Drone footage provided images of the man and his vehicle. On February 28, 2025, Glendora Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description. Upon arrival of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies, Castellon fled, leading to a brief pursuit.After stopping, Castellon appeared to manipulate an object inside the car before raising a handgun and shooting himself. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Forensic analysis confirmed that the same firearm was used in both the Nevada and California incidents.
