OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/06/2025, 27-year-old Nathan Kinney, an inmate at the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center, collapsed while engaging in recreational activities within the facility. Corrections and medical staff responded immediately, providing medical aid before transporting him to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Kinney had been in custody since 12/28/2024 on charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary. His family, noting that he had no prior health issues, is demanding answers and has requested access to medical records and jail footage to understand the circumstances surrounding his death.
