OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/19/2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Geneva police officer approached a man in a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of South Randall Road. The officer suspected intoxication and asked the man to exit the vehicle. The man drove away, dragging the officer a short distance and causing injuries. Geneva police alerted neighboring departments. Aurora police located the vehicle near Lake Street and Galena Boulevard. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase, which ended when stop sticks were deployed near Route 25 and Ashland Avenue. The man displayed a weapon. Officers opened fire, killing him. The Kane County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating.
