On March 20, 2025, around 12:15 p.m., Chandler police responded to a domestic violence incident near Chandler Boulevard and Hamilton Street. Witnesses said an elderly neighbor sought help after an altercation with a 27-year-old man who was armed with a knife and had made suicidal and threatening statements. Police encountered the man outside the residence. Police allege that he charged toward them. They shot and killed him.
