OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On March 21, 2025, around 8:30 p.m., Moore Police responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing near Northwest 5th Street and Butler Street, close to Southgate Elementary School. Officers encountered 19-year-old James Collier, who emerged from a home wielding a large machete. Police allege that Collier did not comply with commands to drop the weapon. Officers opened fire and struck him at least once. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Two stabbing victims were also located and are expected to survive. The relationship between Collier and the victims has not been disclosed.
