On March 21, 2025, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy struck a pedestrian on Bruceville Road near Big Horn Boulevard in Elk Grove. The deputy was on duty and reportedly responding to a call at the time. The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital but died from their injuries. The Elk Grove Police Department is conducting the investigation into the fatal crash.
