OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On March 26, 2025, South Gate Police officers attempted to arrest a man in a van near Seville Avenue and Walnut Street in Walnut Park. He was wanted in connection with two recent armed robberies. As officers approached, the man allegedly raised a firearm. Officers opened fire, striking and killing him. Two guns were recovered. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
