OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On March 22, 2025, a man held at the St. Louis City Justice Center was found on the floor by jail staff and transported to St. Louis University Hospital. A toxicology report ruled out drugs, and seizures were suspected. After being discharged back to the jail, he was found unresponsive in a cell the next morning. He was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and pronounced dead. There were no obvious signs of trauma. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Force Investigative Unit is leading the investigation.
