OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 9, 2025, Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers initiated a pursuit of a stolen red Dodge Charger in the Chattanooga area. The chase continued along Interstate 75, with speeds reaching up to 125 mph. The vehicle was eventually found crashed near the Tennessee River Bridge in Loudon County. Three teenagers exited the vehicle and jumped approximately 80 feet into the Tennessee River. Ma'Rico Johnson and another teen drowned, while a third survived and was hospitalized.
