On April 13, 2025, Oak Grove Police responded to a 911 hang-up call traced to a residence on Arkansas Avenue. Upon arrival, officers heard a gunshot and discovered 27-year-old Gage Gilbert deceased inside the home. They located 35-year-old Michael Johnson barricaded in a back room. Despite negotiation attempts, Johnson was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
