OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 17, 2025, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Medina County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on I-71 in Harrisville Township for an equipment violation. The driver, 31-year-old Chris Nerantzoulis, drobve away. Medina County deputies escalated a high-speed pursuit into Cuyahoga County. Strongsville Police deployed tire deflation devices, disabling the vehicle. Nerantzoulis exited the car, fled on foot, and fired several shots before fatally shooting himself. Deputies did not discharge their weapons during the incident. Nerantzoulis was under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Office for two armed robberies, including one that occurred the previous evening.
