On April 20, 2025, Prince George's County police responded to a domestic stabbing at an apartment on Indian Head Highway. A man and a woman were found critically injured, and the building had been set on fire, displacing residents. Officers later located the man near St. George Boulevard and Potomac Passage. He was armed with a knife and advanced on officers. Two officers opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The two stabbing victims remained in critical condition.
