On April 19, 2025, Sacramento Police responded to an incomplete 911 call at an apartment on Arden Way. Officers found a woman with at least one gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Later that evening, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle of interest on eastbound I-80 near Norwood Avenue. During the stop, a man inside the vehicle sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
