OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 20, 2025, around 12:31 a.m., Fullerton Police encountered a man acting erratically and holding a smoldering cardboard box in Lemon Park after closing hours. Officers attempted to detain him, but the man resisted and bit an officer on the arm. Multiple officers restrained him using force. Shortly after being placed in restraints, the man experienced a medical emergency. Paramedics transported him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The officer who was bitten was treated and released. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is conducting an independent investigation.
