On April 20, 2025, around 6:25 p.m., LAPD officers responded to reports of a man firing a weapon into an apartment building on the 6400 block of Reseda Boulevard. The man fled through the complex, and an LAPD helicopter observed him appearing to fire his handgun at the aircraft. Officers located the man in an alley behind the complex. During the confrontation, officers opened fire and killed him.
