OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 26, 2025, the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office initiated a high-speed chase when a Precinct 7 deputy first attempted to stop the driver of a white Volkswagen Tiguan traveling 90 mph without headlights. The driver refused to stop and accelerated to over 120 mph. A Precinct 3 deputy, Alberto Tamez, took over the pursuit. The suspect crashed into a field, fled on foot, slipped in mud, and was struck and dragged about 10 feet by Deputy Tamez's patrol vehicle. The man was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released. The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
