OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On April 25, 2025, around 3:30 p.m., Port St. Lucie Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance at Spanish Lakes Golf Village. A family member reported being assaulted by 35-year-old Alexander Taylor, who was holding a butcher knife. During the 911 call, Taylor was heard making threats about "suicide by cop," stating he intended to provoke officers into using lethal force. Upon arrival, officers observed Taylor pacing with the knife and, as they approached, he charged toward them. Officers Dillon Arena and Thomas Risco fired their weapons, striking Taylor multiple times in the chest. He was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is leading the investigation.
