California Highway Patrol initiated a pursuit of a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado after reports of the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near San Clemente. Officers pursued the driver through San Diego County. The chase ended at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, where the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound as officers attempted a second traffic stop.
