OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 26, 2025, deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 6400 block of Emerald Dunes Drive. Upon arrival, deputies saw 20-year-old Alonzo Riser actively stabbing his father with a sword. After giving verbal commands that were not followed, a deputy opened fire, striking and killing Alonzo. His father, 52-year-old Tyrone Riser, died from stab wounds. The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave. The incident is under investigation by the sheriff’s office, the State Attorney’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
