OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On April 26, 2025, at approximately 7:20 a.m., detention officers conducting a routine welfare check found 35-year-old Rachel Nalley unresponsive in her cell at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Medical staff and Oklahoma City Fire Department personnel initiated life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at 7:27 a.m. Nalley had been in custody since April 21, 2025, on charges including failure to appear, engaging in prostitution, and possession of a controlled substance. The Oklahoma County Detention Center is investigating, and the State Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause of death. Her death is the sixth reported in the jail so far in 2025.
