OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/04/2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., a private security officer responded to a burglary in progress at 3200 San Felipe Street in the River Oaks area of Houston. The man attempted to flee on foot and fired a pistol at the officer, striking his protective vest. The security officer returned fire, striking the man. The man fired again, hitting the officer in the shoulder. The man was later found dead at the scene. The injured officer was transported to a hospital in stable condition. Houston Police are investigating, and the case will be presented to a Harris County grand jury.
