On May 7, 2025, Charles McGonegal II was involved in a violent incident at an In-N-Out parking lot in Manteca, California. Police say McGonegal rammed multiple cars in the drive-thru line, including a police cruiser, after his food was rejected. Responding officers attempted to get McGonegal to cooperate, but he refused. He then backed his van into three police vehicles, prompting officers to open fire. McGonegal was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
