OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On May 10, 2025, Riverside police officers fatally shot an individual near Kansas City International Airport after a shooting incident at the Argosy Casino. Police were initially responding to a domestic violence dispute between a woman and two men, possibly a husband and ex-husband, that led to a shooting in the casino parking lot. The suspect fled the scene in a rented U-Haul truck, leading to a pursuit. After a short chase, police shot and killed the suspect, closing part of northbound I-29 near I-435. A man who was shot multiple times at the casino was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the incident.
