On May 5, 2025, a driver died in a crash after fleeing from police on I-94 in west-central Minnesota. The pursuit began when officers attempted to stop the driver for speeding, and escalated a chase at high speeds. During the chase, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a semi-truck. The driver was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
