On April 29, 2025, Ashland Police responded to a burglary and trespassing complaint in Ashland, Kentucky. Officers encountered an armed man near a church on Blackburn Avenue after the initial call. The man was reportedly armed with a shotgun and refused to comply. During the standoff, officers opened fire and killed him. No officers were injured. The Kentucky State Police is conducting the investigation.
