OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On May 6, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a Pecos County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Iraan, Texas. During the stop, the suspect shot the deputy and fled the scene. The suspect was later located on US 190, about 8 miles east of Iraan. Law enforcement opened fire and killed him. The injured deputy was transported by AirMed to Midland Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition. The Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation.
