OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On May 5, 2025, at approximately 12:21 p.m., Katy Police responded to a report of a stolen work vehicle in the 25500 block of Morgan Parkway in unincorporated Katy, Fort Bend County. The vehicle was tracked with assistance from its owner. The suspect, 46-year-old Brett Osborne of Richmond, Texas, led officers on a high-speed chase through multiple jurisdictions in the greater Houston area. The pursuit concluded near the intersection of Community Reach Boulevard and Mound Road in Hockley, Harris County. When officers approached the stopped vehicle, they discovered Osborne had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No other individuals were injured during the incident.
