OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/05/2025, the Katy Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle around 12:21 p.m. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase that involved the Harris County Sheriff's Office and Texas DPS. The pursuit continued until the vehicle stopped near the intersection of US-290 and Becker Road. At that point, the driver shot himself. He was transported to the hospital, where he died.
