On May 7, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., U.S. Marshals, assisted by the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, attempted to apprehend Brandon Roe, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants. Roe was observed as a passenger in a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Breanna Wilkerson. According to official reports, as law enforcement approached the vehicle on the 4000 block of Copper Avenue in Farmington, the vehicle moved toward the officers while Roe attempted to climb into the driver's seat. U.S. Marshals discharged their firearms, resulting in the deaths of both Roe and Wilkerson at the scene. Witnesses at the scene disputed the official account, stating that the vehicle was stationary and that the occupants were attempting to leave peacefully. Wilkerson had no significant criminal history, aside from minor traffic violations. The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
