OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/09/2025, at approximately 1:57 p.m., deputies from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a man pouring gasoline inside a residence near Ty Street and College Drive in Kingman, Arizona. The man was reportedly armed and refused to exit the house.
A SWAT team, including members from the Bullhead City Police Department, was deployed to the scene. Despite repeated commands to surrender, the suspect did not comply. When he eventually exited the residence, he pointed a weapon at the SWAT officers, prompting them to open fire.
The suspect was struck by gunfire, detained, and transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting an investigation. The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
