On May 12, 2025, Davenport police officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 1100 block of West 15th Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man who reportedly pointed a firearm at them. Officers opened fire, striking the man. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No officers were injured during the incident.
