OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
A Morgan County Sheriff's deputy fatally shot a man while responding to a 911 call about an unwanted person at a residence on Ray Cross Road in the Mossy Grove area. Upon arrival, the man reportedly picked up a large rock and advanced toward the deputy. The deputy fired multiple shots, striking the man. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived and transported him to Roane County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.
