OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On May 12, 2025, a 26-year-old man was fatally shot by Baltimore police after a foot pursuit and exchange of gunfire near the 4600 block of York Road and East Cold Spring Lane. Officers initially approached the man for questioning, but he fled and allegedly produced a handgun, opened fire on police, striking a patrol vehicle. Officers returned fire, hitting the man. A handgun with an extended magazine was recovered. The man was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
