On May 9, 2025, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Ty Street in Kingman, Arizona, involving a man reportedly pouring gasoline inside the home and armed with a weapon. The suspect, identified as 56-year-old Jack Lagerwey, refused to exit the house, prompting the activation of SWAT teams from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office and Bullhead City Police Department. After several hours of negotiation, Lagerwey emerged from the residence and allegedly pointed a weapon at SWAT officers. In response, officers fired at Lagerwey, who was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and later pronounced dead. The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident
