OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
A 65-year-old man in mental health crisis died by suicide following a four-hour standoff with Grapevine Police on May 12, 2025. Officers responded to reports of an armed man near the 4400 block of SH-360 Frontage Road. The man held a handgun to his chest as negotiators and the NETCAST SWAT team attempted to de-escalate the situation. After prolonged negotiation attempts failed, officers deployed gas in an effort to disarm him. The man then shot himself in the chest. He was transported to a hospital where he died. Grapevine Police are investigating
