OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On May 12, 2025, around 5:15 p.m., Aurora Police responded to reports of a person trespassing at an offsite airport parking lot on the 19900 block of East 56th Avenue. The man was reportedly pulling on car door handles and refused to leave. When contacted by an officer, the man became combative, pulled the officer to the ground, and the officer used a Taser and other de-escalation techniques without success. During the struggle, the officer opened fire, fatally shooting the man. The officer sustained minor injuries. The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is investigating.
