On May 5, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., members of the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force were executing a search warrant at a residence near 400 North and 800 East in Orem, Utah. The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug distribution activities involving a man who had been arrested earlier that evening. During the execution of the warrant, officers encountered 24-year-old Jesse Anderson inside the residence. According to law enforcement, Anderson did not comply with commands, leading to a confrontation during which officers fired shots. A loaded handgun was reportedly recovered from the floor next to Anderson. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
