On May 17, 2025, David Barber, whom police have been searching for, was located. Albuquerque Police Department escalated a high-speed chase through the city in a stolen recreational vehicle (RV). Officers Ray Marquez and Phetamphone Pholphiboun employed a ramming maneuver to end the pursuit. The RV crashed, resulting in Barber's death. The incident is under investigation by the Albuquerque Police Department.
