On May 17, 2025, around 11:00 p.m., San Diego Police attempted to stop a vehicle in the Grant Hill neighborhood. The driver fled, leading officers on a pursuit. The chase ended in the 2800 block of Imperial Avenue in Logan Heights when the suspect's vehicle crashed. One male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and another occupant was hospitalized with injuries. Authorities suspect the driver was under the influence. The incident is under investigation.
