On May 17, 2025, shortly before 2:00 a.m., a Grand Prairie Police Department officer initiated a pursuit of a vehicle and chased the vehicle into Dallas until it crashed on eastbound Interstate 30 near the Westmoreland Road exit. The collision involved a red Camaro and a sedan, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. Emergency responders transported individuals from the scene to the hospital, where one person was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
