OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On May 27, 2025, around 11:25 a.m., neighbors in Jeffersontown reported that Marco Dorsey was acting violently—knocking on doors, smashing car windows, and threatening residents. Off‑duty Jeffersontown Police Officer Stevonte Wood, a former Louisville Metro PD officer, responded after being alerted. Wood confronted Dorsey outside his home. According to Chief Sanders, Wood identified himself but Dorsey continued aggressive behavior—throwing garbage cans, damaging property, and approaching the officer aggressively. Wood then fired multiple shots, fatally striking Dorsey. No officers were injured. Wood was not in uniform and was not wearing a body camera at the time. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is conducting the investigation.
