Florida rapper NewAge Jerkboy, born Cornelius Better, reportedly died after complications from a police K-9 bite sustained during a police response to a shooting in Fort Lauderdale on May 30, 2025. His manager stated that Better was not involved in the incident but was bitten on the thigh by a police dog. The bite allegedly became infected, and when medical care was not available in time, he suffered organ failure and died. He was 29 years old. Police did not disclose why he was bitten by a police dog during an event in which he was described as bystander.
